Who we are
Crypto Tax Academy ("CT Academy") is a trade name of 2734434 Alberta Inc., providing online education for accounting professionals in crypto tax bookkeeping. Andrew Harder is responsible for privacy matters and can be reached at support@ctacademy.io.

- Name and email address, when joining the email list or registering for a course
- Payment information, processed securely through our payment providers. We do not store payment card details ourselves
- Communications you send us, including emails, support requests, and community posts

Community participation data.
- Posts, questions, and responses submitted in the Crypto Tax Academy community

Legal basis for processing
Crypto Tax Academy complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which applies to Canadian businesses. We collect and process personal information with your consent, where necessary to fulfill a contract with you such as a course purchase, or where required by law.
For users in the European Economic Area, we process personal data under the lawful bases of consent and contract performance as defined under the GDPR where applicable.
Email communications and CASL
Crypto Tax Academy complies with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). By joining our email list or purchasing a course, you provide express or implied consent to receive commercial electronic messages from Crypto Tax Academy relating to course updates and educational content.
You may withdraw consent and unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us at support@ctacademy.io. Transactional emails such as purchase receipts and account access will continue regardless of marketing preferences.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services, which may collect or process your personal information on our behalf:
- Systeme.io, which hosts our website, funnels, email delivery, course platform, and community
- Stripe, for payment processing, subject to Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy
- PayPal, for payment processing, subject to PayPal's privacy policy at paypal.com/privacy
- Google Workspace, for internal communications and customer support
- Anthropic (Claude), for AI-assisted internal content development. No student personal data is shared with Anthropic
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide services. If you request deletion of your account and personal data, we will action that request within 30 days, subject to any legal obligation requiring us to retain certain records.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention obligations
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca if you believe your rights under PIPEDA have been violated

Payment information is processed exclusively through PCI-compliant third-party processors and is never stored on Crypto Tax Academy systems.
